They normally sell for $179.99, making this a standout deal for a pair of ultra-tiny sleep buds that I barely notice as I drift off to the soothing sounds of rain or birdsong.Anker Soundcore Sleep A20$108$18040% off$108Anker’s Soundcore Sleep A20 are sleep buds that block external sounds, allow you to play Bluetooth audio and white noise, and track your sleep. Read our review.Read More$108 at Amazon$108 at Best BuyI’ve had mine since they launched in 2024 and wear them almost every night. I love that they include built-in soundscapes, so I don’t need to keep my phone nearby. But with a quick tap, they switch into standard Bluetooth earbuds if I decide I’d rather fall asleep to The Tortured Poets Department streaming from my phone. This year, Anker released an active noise-canceling model, the A30, which is also on sale for $179.99 at Amazon (down from $229). While ANC would certainly help block out more noise, the battery-life hit that my colleague Thomas Ricker noted in his review makes me perfectly content with my A20s. They can last up to 14 hours, compared to 6 to 9 hours on the A30s. Sleep buds are useless if they’re dead. And while I can still hear my husband snoring with the A20s, they muffle it enough that it fades into background noise instead of keeping me up.Verge DealsSign up for Verge Deals to get deals on products we’ve tested sent to your inbox weekly.Email (required)Sign UpBy submitting your email, you agree to our Terms and Privacy Notice. Anker’s Soundcore Sleep A20 sleepbuds represent a compelling solution for individuals struggling with sleep disruption caused by external noises, particularly those sharing a bed with a noisy partner. Currently available at a discounted price of $108 – a significant drop from their original $179.99 retail value – these earbuds offer a practical approach to improving sleep quality. The primary benefit of the A20s lies in their ability to effectively block out distracting sounds, allowing users to more readily drift off to sleep, regardless of ambient noise. Jennifer Pattison Tuohy, Senior Reviewer at The Verge, describes them as “slimline earbuds that can be nabbed for $108 right now at Amazon,” highlighting their compact design and accessibility. These sleepbuds are engineered to mitigate external sounds, going beyond simple earplugs by employing Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technology, though the review notes that the A30 model, with ANC, comes with a battery-life trade-off. The Soundcore Sleep A20s include the capability to play Bluetooth audio and white noise, and incorporate sleep tracking functionality. The inclusion of built-in soundscapes, as noted by Tuohy, provides a convenient alternative to relying on an external audio source while attempting to fall asleep. A key advantage of the A20s is their suitability for side-sleepers, a demographic often affected by snoring. While Jennifer Pattison Tuohy’s personal experience reveals that the earbuds don’t completely eliminate the sound of her husband’s snoring, they effectively muffle it to the point where it fades into background noise, mitigating its disruptive influence. The sleepbuds' battery life – up to 14 hours – significantly surpasses that of the A30 model, which offers 6 to 9 hours of playback. This extended battery life is a crucial factor for sustained sleep support. The review highlights the practicality and overall value proposition of the A20s, particularly given the current promotional pricing. |
